It was a new year for the ACDC school to start up. Many students had been heading to the school to try and get there on time or even earlier so that they could see old friends or just prepare for the new year. Many of them enjoyed the morning air, and the whole thought of school excited them. Many however didn't seem to like the thought at all. They seemed to not want to get up and go to school and just thought that sleeping would be all that they could ever want or ever ask for.
Many students were being dropped off and many others were just walking or using some sort of vehicle to get to where they wanted at a decent speed. However though they were all heading towards the same place all of them knew that it was the beginning of a new year, and that meant a whole year of school ahead of them. Some were excited and others were completely upset with this fact. Though, even so a young red head girl made her way up the stairs into the school as well a small orange haired girl. The bell was nearing time to rind and for class to start.
A new figure had arrived at the school this morning, he had traveled on foot and he was looking at the building in front of him. It was quite massive and he was confused as he looked up at it. It seemed that it held more students than just himself but then again he wasn't totally sure about all that this school was for so it was obvious that a bit of confusion might be about him. He began to slowly move into the courtyard and slowly after he had entered, the bell began to ring and the gates inside were beginning to close. He didn't look back but continued to walk towards the steps so he could start his first year of school in ACDC.

In the midst of the morning rush that almost every student went through, there was one teen who remained oblivious to all of it. He was sound asleep in his bed, blissfully unaware of the fact that he was going to be completely late to school if he did not wake up soon. A loud beeping sound and a frantic voice coming from the PET lying on his nearby desk finally caused his eyes to slowly open. "Lan, come on! Why did you have to pick today to sleep in?” Lan slowly sat up and rubbed his eyes. “Megaman? What do you mean?” The blue navi inside the PET sighed. “The new year of school is starting, and you’re going to be late!” The boy immediately shot up out of bed, grabbed his PET off the desk, and ran out of his room. He grabbed a piece of toast off the dining room table, thanked his mom before she could even say a word, and flew out the front door.
“Megaman, why didn’t you wake me up sooner?” Lan was practically flying across the streets on the skates that could be attached or removed from the bottom of his shoes. “I tried to, but you always sleep through my alarm. Just focus and you might still make it on time.” The brown-haired teen simply nodded as he finished the bread he had grabbed on the way out. He bent his knees to get lower to the ground and increased his speed. He could now see the gates of the school. His eyes widened when he heard the bell ringing and saw the gates begin to slowly close in the distance. “Oh great! Miss Mari will kill me if I don’t even show up at all!” His navi remained silent to avoid distracting his operator, and he could only hope that he would make it.
Luckily for Lan, this path was slightly downhill, allowing him to move even faster on the wheels that were carrying him along the roads. When he was merely feet away from the gates that were about to finish closing for the day, he quickly shifted his weight forward and jumped with all his strength. His body barely cleared the closing metal barrier, and he landed with a loud thud on the ground ahead of him. “Oww…” He slowly stood to his feet and rubbed his arms and legs that had collided with the ground. Megaman’s voice suddenly spoke up. “Well even if you are still late to class, at least you can tell Miss Mari about how hard you tried to get here on time.” Lan sighed and began walking forward towards the school building. “Yeah, very funny. She’s still going to kill me…”

Rei had been early coming to school today. She usually was. It wasn't as if she had anything else to do in the morning time. Even though she went to bed late, she woke up bright and early each morning. She didn't need much sleep. Four to six hours was good enough for her while most people needed eight to ten. Oh, well. Their loss. She would sleep when she was dead, right?
She had taken a seat in the back of the room, just as she always did. This way, she could watch everyone in the classroom. Being the recluse she was, she often analyzed others to pick up on their personalities and such. A lot of the girls talked loudly about their personal lives, so she knew everything about them. The guys talked more in whispers, but some of them announced their business to the world. High school was more complex than people though. She was still contemplating on whether or not she liked it. Some days she did, some she didn't.
"Seijin-sama," came a familiar voice. The netnavi was lying comfortable in Rei's purse. It seemed he had found enough objects in there to create his own, cozy bed. Plus, it was a big handbag, probably big enough to carry a small kanine. "Your hair is falling."
Rei had put her hair in a bun that morning, but Kaiteki was right. It was falling; she could feel it. Too lazy to refix it, she removed the hair band and let her long, midnight hair fall over her back. "I'm too lazy to fix it again," she laughed.
Although the school bell already rang, the sensei wasn't in the room yet. Maybe she had to make some copies or run some errands. It seemed that one or two people were late anyway. Maybe they'd make it in before she did.

Lenore had gotten at school rather early. She was used to the American school system, not the Japanese, so she wanted to make sure that everything was correct and that she would be able to concentrate on the day ahead of her without snags. Because of her early arrival she was sitting in the classroom for a long while before it had become even remotely full. She had chosen a seat in the middle row near the window.
A book of Edgar Allen Poe work was spralled open in front of her on the desk. She was working on translating it to Japanese. It was kind of hard because she wanted to keep the same eerie sounds in the poem, as was intended by Poe, and still make it sound logical. She let out a sigh. She gently tapped the pen she was using against her lips, trying to think of an appropriate word. She sat the pen down, figuring the lines that she had already completed were enough for now. She turned her head to glance out the window, a soft wind could be seen, softly bustling the leaves on the trees just outside the the pained window.
Her attention shifted to the door once she heard the chiming of the bells. Her eyes scanned the room. The teacher had yet to enter the classroom, which indicated why several of it's occupants had yet to settle down. She shook her head at the foolishness and childness of their actions. She shifted her dark hair behind her ear, as she looked back down at the notebook where her translations laid. She pushed it near the corner of the desk, where she could work on it later.

The new boy had continued to walk around the school and had gone up a few flight of stairs. He knew that his class room was on the third floor up but he still wasn't fully remembering just which room number it was. "9-B." The boy nodded his head hearing his navi spoke and gave him the answer since he had figured that he might need a small reminder. He nodded his head to his navi and then began to walk down the hall. His hands were in his pockets as he continued to move ahead and finally saw the door of his destination.
His hand touched the door and he slid it open. A few students looked over to see who was entering the room but he was opening the back door so many of them had figured that he wasn't the teacher and went back to their conversations that they had at hand. He slowly entered the class room and went to the desk at the far back corner of the class. He placed his book bag on the back of the chair and sat down in it. He then proceeded to place a single hand on his chin and rest his elbow there as well. He gazed outside to the open area of the school. He was lucky enough to manage to see what appeared to be Hikari and it seemed he was heading up.
Shiro's navi however was not on his shoulder or even in plain sight. His PET was on the desk that he sat at but the screen was black. It seemed that there was just silence about him and Shiro still didn't even bother to look outside to survey the possible world that there was around him. He didn't speak to anybody and in return it seemed that nobody addressed him at all. There was silence almost as if it was a zone around him.

((Nineteenth Century literature rules!! I've read all of Poe's works myself. XD))
It was quite boring, sitting in a classroom with nothing to do. If anyone cared for her opinion, she'd announce that she'd rather do schoolwork rather than watched her classmates act like fools. She noticed a couple of people who seemed more like her, though. One of them was new. A girl with long black hair like herself. She seemed to be reading something.
"I should have brought a book... Good thinking, new chick." she thought to herself.
She then looked over to the other one. Shiro was his name. She remembered him form the last semester. He had always been a little more mature than the others, from what she could tell. He didn't seem to be doing anything, like her. But Rei wasn't one to start conversation, so she just sat there.

The quiet sounds conversations and activities within the classroom were quickly overpowered by the sound of Lan sprinting through the door of the room. He barely managed to stop in front of his desk in the middle of the classroom and abruptly drop down into the seat. He immediately rested his head on the desktop and began breathing heavily. “I… made… it… in time.” He didn’t see Miss Mari or any other teacher in the room, so it was a lucky break that he hadn’t ended up being tardy on the first day of the new year. “Lan, you wouldn’t be in such a rush all the time if you were a little more responsible. Maybe you need to…” Before the navi could finish his sentence, Lan had shoved his PET into his backpack on the floor next to him to keep Megaman from saying anything else.
The young teen sighed in relief and finally sat up to look around the classroom. Many of the faces in the room were familiar to him, but there were a few that he did not recognize. He then sighed and began staring at the front of the room. He wasn’t a very patient o focused person, so he could get bored very easily. Then, oblivious to the fact that it might be distracting or unwanted to some people, he blurted out a question to no one in particular. “So is anyone here into net battling?” Even at school, that was the only thing on Lan’s mind. He also didn't even seem to care that Miss Mari or another teacher might enter at any minute now.

Shiro had heard the sound of another person entering into the room. He wasn't surprised and by the sound of how the door quickly slid open and the navi already scolding his operator. Shiro turned his head a bit and looked over only to see Hikari at his desk and looking like he was needing something to do at that moment or he would die. Shiro had always wondered what made that kid so hyper but he was continually without an answer. He had settled back to his normal position of looking back outside the window and wondering what might happen this day. The first day of school was always a boring one for him.
Lan's voice suddenly rang out as he heard him ask for a challenge in a netbattle. He turned his head slowly over and looked as all the students looked at him in amazement and confusion. Of course many of them would probably obey the school rules and wouldn't agree to any sort of netbattle, but Shiro was semi new still. So he just knew that he wouldn't mind taking on Lan. He stood up from his desk and looked over to Lan. "Sure." He stated this easily and lifted his PET and placed it in his hands.

Lan blinked when he heard a voice, and he quickly looked over to see who had spoken. His eyes rested on Shiro, and he grinned widely. “Alright, let’s do it then! It’s been too long since I’ve been able to battle against something besides cheap viruses.” A muffled voice came from his backpack. “Lan, it’s against the school rules to netbattle at school. You’re both going to get in trouble.” The teen simply shook his head. “Come on Megaman, ease up. None of the teachers will even find out or know about this.” He lifted his PET out of the backpack. “Okay! Megaman, jack in! Power…”
“LAN HIKARI!” A shrill female voice interrupted Lan’s usual phrase. He slowly turned around to see the angry face of Miss Mari that he was used to seeing. “Lan, what are you two doing with those PETs? You weren’t planning on netbattling, were you?” He quickly shoved the device back into his backpack and smiled innocently. “Of course not. I’d never do that during class, Miss Mari. I was just showing him a new program that I installed into Megaman.”
The female teacher stared disbelievingly at him before sighing and walking back to the front of the room. Lan let out a deep breath of relief and slowly sank into his seat again. “That was close…” He muttered this under his breath. He was glad that he hadn’t gotten into trouble on the first day back, but he was slightly disappointed that he hadn’t gotten to show off his skill. He now stared forward at their teacher who was beginning to prepare for the lessons and hoped that maybe he and the boy who had offered to battle could continue after classes were finished for the day.

Shiro had noticed the teacher enter and watched her as Lan and Megaman were speaking. When her voice yelled out and caught Lan’s attention, Shiro just turned around once more and looked back to the outside of the window. He left his PET on his desk and the screen was still Dark. He pressed a button but what he did was still unseen to anybody in the class room. He had actually sent Lan a mail but made sure to keep it quiet so that he wouldn’t get in trouble. He figured that Lan would be happy with the message since he seemed to still want to netbattle.
The message read, “After school, or when you feel it necessary we’ll battle.” That was all it said and there was no image on the navi that sent it. All it had was Shiro’s name attached to the end of the message. He knew that would spark Lan’s want for battle and he then went back to his normal position of looking outside. He didn’t want to bother to listen to what the teacher was saying since it was mainly introduction and he knew that she would start with his row but the front of the class. Then she would make it zigzag around the class. He remembered her style that’s how he had figured this out.
His eyes slowly looked up from the window and gazed at Miss Mari as she was looking around at the roll sheet. He didn’t make any sort of motion to show that he cared but he just looked back to the outside of the window. The people in the class started saying their names but Shiro still seemed like he wasn’t interested in any of it. His PET screen was still black.

Lenore had listened intently to what Lan was saying. Her eyes studied him and Shiro. A soft smile was perched upon her lips as she did. Seems this school would be more interesting than she had previously thought. She saw Shiro's reaction when the teacher had entered, she was happy to see that he wasn't so involved that he hadn't noticed. She quietly closed the books that laid open on the desk, finding no need in having them open while the teacher was there.
Lenore paid close attention to the names that Miss Mari was calling out. She mentally put a name to a face. With quite a few students, she figured that it wasn't all that important to learn everybody's name. She cued in on a few though. When she heard her own name called though she quickly responded. Her eyes shot around the room seeing if she could catch any reactions. It was obviously a forigen name. She decided then that either most the kids didn't care, or they were too reclused in their own world to notice. That or both.
A silence came over her person as the names after her's began to be called. She looked down to her bag for a breif moment, knowing that her own PET laid inside it's dark crevices. She pictured Raven in her head, as her eyes then scanned the room once more. She was only half listening to the teacher's voice. She discretely reached her hand in, and pulled out her PET and placed it on her lap beneath the desk. She held it tight in her hand. Though she didn't look at the screen, she knew already what was there.

When the sensei called her name, Rei responded loudly so that she could hear her. She was in the back of the room, after all. Once she finished this, she relaxed in her seat. She looked at Kaiteki, who responded as if he had something to say. He probably wanted to watch a netbattle. He enjoyed watching them and learning. Rei like watching, too, actually. They were always fun to watch as long as the owners didnt' abuse their PETs. That's when she got angry and either started "humanbattling" or just left.
"Maybe they'll have a battle after school!" Kaiteki whispered from inside her bag. "Want to stay after and watch?"
She nodded at him and poked his forehead. "Of course. I know Megaman's pretty good anyway. We might learn something."

Shiro had heard everybody else stand up for the roll call and say who they were. When Lenore was called for roll he looked over to her. He wasn’t sure why but something about her had caught his attention, it was probably her name but he felt there would be something more than that. He didn’t say anything or even look for too long and shortly after he looked away from her. He was looking out the window again and then when the other girl was called he looked over as well. She was in the back row, in fact he didn’t notice it but she was the seat next to his.
Rei was her name and he took note of it just like he had of certain people in the class. Many of them he didn’t care about but something about these two girls and of course Hikari stood out. He had managed to look back to the window still since the teacher took a moment to see his name on the roll. He paused and heard his name be called. He simply raised his hand up and then sat it back down, though Miss Mari didn’t seem to mind. That finished the roll with the exception that it seemed Miss Mari had skipped Lan Hikari. It seemed like she wanted to make a point of him so his name had been skipped. Shiro turned his eyes to listen to what she planned on saying.

Lan turned and stared at each person as their teacher called out the names. He didn’t seem to realize that it might be awkward for the people that he was looking at. He then blinked when the role call ended. His name hadn’t been called, and he did not know why. He raised his hand and shouted loudly. “Miss Mari, you didn’t call my name!” The female teacher slowly turned around and looked him in the eyes. “Oh, I’m sorry Lan. I almost forgot that you were a student here, because you never seem to act like one. A few laughs came from some students sitting nearby, and Lan felt his face heat up with embarrassment. He sighed as Miss Mari wrote something down on the sheet she was carrying and began preparing to present the actual learning material for the day.
He looked down at his open backpack and could see the screen of his PET. Megaman simply sighed and shrugged. They both knew that even though Miss Mari had known him for many years now, she still could not tolerate his lack of discipline and responsibility when it came to school. The one thing that was keeping Lan’s spirits high was the fact that he was going to netbattle with Shiro after school. Netbattles were the times when he could forget about the other cares of life and do the one thing he loved most. Maybe that was why Miss Mari’s words always passed over him like water during class…

(yeah i know chaud doesnt come to school that much but oh well)
A limo pulled up infront of the school inside the limo a teenager was getting his stuff together "uh...i hate school..." The boy said to himself as he placed his PET in his backpack the screen was black so it wouldnt bee seen when he opened it up in the classroom. The a man walked over and opened the Door "mr. Blaze are you all set for your first day of school..sorry were late i kinda had trouble with the limo.." The man said as he opened the door The boy got out "whatever.." The boy said as he put his backpack over his shoulder and walked into school not saying bye to the man.
Inisde the school the boy looked around for his classroom "hmm..where is it.." the boy said as he moved some hair from his face and walked down the hall. Once he got down the hall he made a right and walked down that hall till he got to a room and the door slid open and he walked in "sorry im late..i had car trouble.." the boy said as he took off his back pack and walked over to his desk and sat down and sighed he couldnt elive that he was in school right now.
