Lenore had felt eyes on her when her name was called, for a short while. Her eyes went to Shiro out of the corner of her eyes. She was confident that that was who looked her way. She found this interesting. She had also noted that when his name was called, he simply raised his hand, it was peculiar compared to the rest of the class' reaction.
Lenore hadn't been paying all to much attention, but she was pretty certain that she wasn't all that spaced out to not notice Miss Mari call Lan's name. She knew it was most likely because she had been meaning to teach him a lesson. She shrugged figuring at least that that is what was implied.
Her eyes turned to the door as she looked towards the classes new arrival. Her eyes followed him to his seat. He seemed to not want to be there, it was almost obvious. Her emerald eyes stayed on him for a while, before they went back to the teacher. 'Hmm this is definately going to be an interesting class...' she thought to herself.
She fiddled with the PET that was in her hand, the scren black. She smiled softly down at it, only looking at it out of her regular line of sight. Her eyes were still focused on the teacher, as a barely audible sigh came from her person.

Rei stared as the boy walked into the classroom. He had arrived fashionably late, blurting out excuses about having car trouble. She wondered if Mari-sensei would take it or not. Considering the treatment she gave Lan, though it wasn't harsh, she highly doubted it. She had also noticed that Shiro had looked at her earlier. Lan had, too, but he looked at everyone. He was quite the energetic one. Shiro seemed more laid-back. He was going to have a netbattle with Lan after school, so maybe she could get to know the both of them better. She wondered who else would stay after. ((Writer's block and I are fighting for control. Gomen. ))

Chaud looked around at the new faces lets see... chaud thought as he eyes spoted one of the most familiar faces Lan Hikari..... Chaud said as a smile formed on his face but then it disappered as Chaud turned back to the front of the class. then he took out his Red and black PET from his back pack and looked at it, the screen was black no images of protoman or nothing showed he just looked at all the detail. he then placed it in his left pocket and waited for the teacher to start talking so he could get out of school and possibly ne Battle or something.

When Chaud had entered Shiro hadn’t bothered to turn his head. His hand slightly moved and only one of his eyes looked over to the boy that had entered. Though he still didn’t even look for that long, it was as if he didn’t even care about anybody else or the lecture, though his earlier actions of paying attention to the people who had been called must have suggested that he would be caring when it came to those few who he had looked at.
When Chaud sat down, Shiro’s eyes had once more been gazing to the outside as Miss Mari had begun her lecture on the net and the world civilization due to the high technology of their time. She began to explain how the world was before the net got so great and how dull it must have been. Shiro hadn’t once looked back towards her, his eyes only looked outside, even when there was nothing outside to see, he didn’t once look back to Miss Mari.
Miss Mari began to ask questions of the students about how the net had become developed and they answered her correctly. She was satisfied with that but at that time she had finally decided that it would be good to test this student who hadn’t looked at her once during her teaching. Of course the first thought that would come to any teachers mind would be of Shiro being an arrogant punk who felt that he didn’t need school or to learn. This was Mari’s chance to test him on this idea.
“Asuka-san.” Shiro’s eyes looked over to Miss Mari as she called. He didn’t stand up even though it was normally customary to do so when you were addressed to answer a question in class. Now was the time to wonder if he was lazy or just physically unable to stand. “Asuka-san, please answer this question: Before the net got to how it is now, was science pushing to expand the net? Or was it just working to better mankind in economic places?”
The class had gone silent, it was a difficult question indeed, and to throw it at the boy who obviously hadn’t been listening to the teacher, well everybody knew that it would be bad for Shiro. But in the end they all had the feeling that he would deserve the punishment. Shiro’s eyes were closed and he didn’t seem to look the least bit worried. He slowly opened his mouth as he leaned forward placing his elbows on the desk again.
“It’s both.”
The students had been surprised, those who knew the answer were shocked, those who didn’t know it were about as surprised as those who did. He had answered it right?
“You see, science back before the net was so grand was not only working to expand the capabilities that the net had but it was also working economically for such a thing as that. Enhancing the net’s capabilities would make it easier for the economic struggles and problems because the net was already used for government issues and other things like that. Because of this, when they were making the net better, the economy of each and mainly all nations was getting better.”
Miss Mari was shocked, that was exactly correct. And if she didn’t know better it sounded like it was word for word from the book. She didn’t say anything else and Shiro had been watching her for a few moment with bored eyes. She had really been taken off guard, Shiro had one a round in knowledge against the teacher.
The bell rang.
Shiro slowly stood up from his desk as many of the class students were staring in awe. He grabbed his bag and began to walk towards the door. He looked to Miss Mari as he walked. “Ja ne, Mari-sensei.” He then exited the room before any of the other students. Mari had taken a moment before finally regaining herself and let out a confused and slightly nervous smile. “R-right. That’s all the l-lectures for this afternoon. Have a good day class!”

Lan had been slowly glancing around at the other students during the teacher’s lectures and questions. He was obviously not listening to a single word that was being said, as usual. His bored eyes suddenly widened in surprise when he saw the student walk into the classroom. He hadn’t seen Chaud, his rival for many years, in a long time. They were both Net Savers, but Lan was the only one who ever came to school, so they rarely saw each other unless they were assigned to the same mission.
After a few more minutes, he lost interest even in Chaud’s arrival and began to space out again. Miss Mari would continue calling out questions to students, and occasionally one would be directed at Lan. He would simply stumble over words and stutter for a few moments before the female teacher simply shook her head in disappointment and continued her teaching. This cycle of spacing off and failing to understand anything that was being said continued until Shiro began answering a seemingly complicated question, at least it was complicated to Lan.
The brown-haired teenager actually listened for once, although he wasn’t really keeping up with what Shiro was saying. He frowned when the boy had finished speaking and when he saw the look on Miss Mari’s face. He hated people who were arrogant or what he referred to as ‘know-it-alls’. It wasn’t that he disliked smart people though. One of his close friends, Yai, was practically a genius, but she did not flaunt it. Maybe he was just getting the wrong impression, but he didn’t like Shiro’s attitude at all.
When the bell rang, Lan quickly picked up his backpack and walked to the front of the class. He smiled at Miss Mari for a moment. “Thanks for the lesson. See you tomorrow, Mariko-sensei!” Most people didn’t know her full name, and they rarely used it if they did know it, including Lan, but he felt that she needed a little cheering up at the moment. Even if he wasn’t a model student, he still had a lot of respect and caring feelings for the person who had been his teacher for several years. After his words of farewell, he quickly ran out the door after Shiro. They had a netbattle to start, and he was ready to win now more than ever.

Rei had tried paying close attention to the lecture, but it all seemed like common sense to her. Even Shiro's question and answer seemed like common knowledge. While most seemed surprised, she only nodded in agreement. She would have said the exact same thing, really, just maybe not as detailed. She knew the details, just hated presenting them in words. Rei hated talking in front of people. Her answer would have been the word "both" and maybe one more sentence. Nothing like Shiro's. In any case, he seemed like an interesting guy. So did the guy that he would ne nat battling after class. Lan seemed more carefree and spontaneous than Shiro, but they both seemed really kind. Maybe she could get to know both of them after the battle.
When the bell rang, she gathered her things and threw them into her bag. She had almost forgotten that Kaiteki was in there and accidently hit him with a smaller book. She knew this when she heard his voice say, "Ouch!" She laughed at him and apologized quietly to him.
Once her things were together, the bid the sensei farewell and walked outside. She was sure to follow Lan and Shiro because she didn't want to miss anything.

It wasn't anything specail to know that Lenore had been a bit bored during the class. She didn't want to think that the intelegence level of the class was low, but everything that had been spoken had seemed to be very simple concepts, or at least in her opinion. And thus when Shiro had answered the question, it didn't surprise her in the slightest that he was correct. After all it was a very simple idea to know. It was the basics really. She couldn't help but smile, at how frazzled and surprised it made the most of the class, and even more so by the teacher's reaction.
When the bell rang, she simply gathered her stuff. Her PET was still in her hand as she stood up. She had mostly remained quiet during the day, and thusly she did now as well. Save for, that is when she was about to exit. Her soft voice was directed towards the teacher. She properly said goodbye and she bowed softly. She then turned and walked out the door.
She, much like Rei, had been prepared to go out and see if Lan and Shiro were going to battle. After all it appeared as though they would, at least in her opinion. She was soon caught up to Rei. She silently looked to her, figuring that she was following Lan and Shiro for the same reasons as her's. She looked up ahead at the two, as well, curious as to how things would play out.

Shiro had headed to the library where he and Lan were going to have their battle. He had entered it quietly and then he walked to one of the tables that allowed navi’s to enter for research and reasons like that. He had looked around the room making sure that nobody would be interrupted if he and Lan had their fight here. The coast seemed to be clear and he had figured that it would be safe and easy for them to fight. He then held his PET in hand.
The screen on the PET was still dark, but one could now tell that the actual device had been turned on. Shiro was standing by one side of the table, the side farthest from the library entrance. He was waiting for Lan, though he figured that some other students might show up, those who really cared would come. He was waiting still and looked up from his PET people had begun to enter the room. That meant it was time.

Lan ran through the halls after Shiro and quickly entered through the door of the library. He quietly made his way passed the tables, people, and bookshelves to reach the back area where his opponent was now standing. He set down his backpack on the floor and pulled out the blue PET that was sitting on top of the books. He pointed the top at the terminals and quietly spoke under his breath. "Jack in. Megaman, power up." Normally he would have been shouting, but that would cause trouble in this place.
The invisible infra-red beam exited the PET and entered the computer. With a whir of streaming data, the blue-clad form of Megaman appeared inside the computer's system. He turned and gave his operator a small grin. "Lan, it's been a while. Ready to operate?" The brown-haired teen smiled back widely. "I always am, Megaman." He then glanced at his opponent. "Ready when you are, Shiro."

Rei had forced a smile in Lenore's direction. It wasn't in a rude way, though. She just wasn't a people person. She figured she ought to be nice to her since she was new and all. "You must be here to see the battle, too," she said.
By now, she had already found a good view of the battle. She was standing at a slight angle, about two yards away from the boys, though she was standing closer to Shiro. She was a safe distance from them, but no so far away that she couldn't analyze everything. After finding this spot, she reached in her bag to pull out her PET. Kaiteki was already on and alert. He loved watching battles, too. He would learn from this as well.

Chaud stayed in class for a few minutes after everyone left there he took out his PET and looked at it. suddenly it turned on and a man with long white hair coverd in red armor appeared "hello, Protoman" Chaud said with a small grin as he checked his bottom left pocket where he kept all of his batle chips all of them were there "great.." Protoman said as he looked around "are you in school i cant belive this.." he said with a striahgt face Chaud looked at Protoman "yeah.i got bored but now schools over..." Cahud said as he stood up and slung his backpack on his shoulders and walked out the room with out looking back.
When Chaud got outside he gave a big sigh in relief that the day was over and walked down the hall toward the front yard to get picked up but on his was he passed the libary where he heard noises "hmm..." he turned and walked in the libary to see afew kids talking and looking around something was happening so Chaud walked throught the crowd to the table to see Lan and another person netbattling "hmm...Protoman....Megaman and lan are netbattleing some guy and a unkown navi.." Chaud said as he looked at protoman who once again appered on his screen "oh...that Megaman..he thinks hes tough..and so strong but whatever.." Protoman said
Chaud sighed as he looked at Lan who was also a Net Saver like him then he looked at the crowd and a fake smile appered on his face.

As Megaman had jacked into the net system there was already a navi standing in the middle of the area. He wasn’t very easy to be seen since his dark red cloak seemed to cover his features quite well, it even hid his buster, because of that, Megaman had no way to see what sort of weapon his opponent might have. The figure stood there and he was still, no words were being spoken and he only waited for Megaman to make the first move.
Real World
Shiro lifted his head up towards Lan so that he could see his face. His eyes seemed to have a sort of new look but he had a plain face showing. “Well, Lan, it seems that you seem to like charging into battles head first so I’ll let you make the first move in this fight.” Shiro said this and his tone held nothing, no confidence, no irritation, no attitude, nothing… it was completely empty. Even Shiro’s eyes held something different, was it confidence hidden in there? One couldn’t really tell.
“Your move. Hikari.”

The blue navi stared silently at the red cloaked navi for a moment. He seemed to be analyzing his opponent, but I was hard to read anything about him. But it didn’t really matter at the moment. He knew that Lan would be operating him, and he could find out more later.
Lan grinned at his opponent. His eyes were practically bursting with anticipation and sheer joy. He and Megaman had been together for years, and netbattling was the time that they could truly show how deep their bond was. He was also sick of Shiro and his arrogance. Although he was still only assuming that he was arrogant. “Let’s see how calm and cool you can be after Megaman and I crush you and that navi of yours into the ground. Megaman! Battle routine, set!”
The blue navi replied with a single word. “Execute!” With that final shout, he leapt into the air and held his right arm forward. “Megabuster!” His arm quickly shifted into a small cannon-like weapon. He began firing off several quick shots of a bright purple-colored energy towards the cloaked navi. The shots weren’t amazingly powerful, but even a strong navi could not take many direct hits without taking damage.

Lenore's eyes went to Rei breefly, her eyes analyzing. She simply nodded her head at the question, not really wanting to make small talk... but then, she rarely did. Lenore had seen Chaud in the back of the crowd, she took silent note of him, and his PET.
Lenore's PET was still in her hands, as she once again switched her focus to the two. She had pretty much figured Lan's strategy out already, after all it was pretty obvious. Her eyes were studying Shiro at the moment, she was curious as to how he and his navi fought. Her eyes narrowed slightly, trying to predict what would happen, and what would happen if she was in Shiro's position.

The buster shots began to fire, Shiro's navi had managed to avoid them by taking a large step backwards. His cloak remained wrapped around his body and still gave Lan and Megaman no sign of what this Navi was capable of. The speed that he moved to avoid the shots wasn't anything above normal, in fact it was about the same that any other uncustomized navi could pull off. The navi had finally taken a step back to the point that there was a rock wall behind him. He stood not against it but still in front of it as he had managed to avoid the shots up to this point.
Real World.
Shiro had been watching the screen of his PET and his eyes slowly looked over to Lan. It seemed that if he had any strategy whatsoever, all that the normal eye could see now would be him randomly firing some shots to get his opponent scared. But Shiro thought differently. That wasn't how Lan worked, sure, his moves looked reckless, but he knew he had experience. There was something behind that look that he had right now. Though Shiro didn't know what, he figured that he and his navi would have to try hard to stand up to the challenge. He still held no expression.
"Don't hold back, Hikari. Everybody's waiting for you to win." He said this without a tone again but then looked back to his PET. He wasn't talking much but his words that he spoke were mainly the ones directed at Lan, and they weren't even words of discouragement. What were they...?
