Lan’s grin widened as he kept his eyes glued to the screen of his PET. It was true that his tactics seemed simple and easy to predict, but there was much more depth to his style of netbattling that most people would never be able to fully comprehend. He wasn’t considered one of the top operators in the world for nothing. Megaman was more than just a navi to him. There was a bond between them that was stronger than most relationships between two humans. Now it was time to surprise everyone by revealing how strong they could be as a team. Although he would have to continue his current ‘predictable’ strategy until the stage was set to unveil his true battling style. “I never hold back, and I will always win when I decide to. Just watch us.”
Megaman landed on the ground after finishing the last few rounds of his buster to drive Shiro’s cloaked navi against the rock wall. The blue navi raised his megabuster arm forward at his opponent as energy began to concentrate and build up around the cannon-like weapon. “Charge Shot! Go!” The recoil of the shot caused Megaman to slide back a few inches when the large, fast, and powerful shot of the buster was launched. After it had been fired, Megaman’s arm reverted back to normal, and he stood in a stance that showed he was ready for whatever he and Lan had planned next. He watched carefully and waited to see how the Navi would attempt to block or evade his attack. Regardless of his reaction, he was ready to perform a certain action when the time was right.

As the charged shot began to near the navi, he acted quickly. The navi’s foot had suddenly pressed up against the wall that was pinning him and he gave it a forceful kick. This launched him up into the air and he was able to clear the blast and continue moving towards Megaman. He landed on the ground without showing his arms or hands yet and his cloaked body turned towards Megaman. He began to run towards him and his cloak kept his features still a mystery. He lifted a cloaked arm and suddenly in the real world a battle chip was inserted into the PET. The chip was Spreader.
The navi raised the cloaked arm as it transformed to the form of the spreader shot and he fired it quickly towards Megaman’s feet. It seemed that he had a reason for aiming the shot so low, but he was still moving towards Megaman as the spreader hit the ground around Megaman, now coming for him. This navi seemed to step himself up one more step, though the real question is how would this battle end up turning out? The clock of time for how long it had gone on was still ticking.
Real World
Shiro had inserted the first chip into his PET. He was watching the screen carefully but he wasn’t saying anything. He didn’t smile, nor smirk, but he still didn’t have any sort of emotion that would show seriousness in him. What was his attitude towards this battle? Was it just a fight? Was there more to it? It seemed impossible to read what he was thinking. His eyes stared down and he inserted another chip into the PET, but he didn’t put it in all the way, it seemed he was waiting for one precise moment…

Megaman stared directly at the incoming attack and navi with a surprisingly confident expression. It looked as if he was not worried in the slightest. He closed his eyes when he heard Lan’s voice shouting above the noise of battle. “Area Steal! Slot in!” The blue navi’s data seemed to suddenly decompose and disappear into the air as his opponent’s attack went right through the empty space. The same loud voice rang out a moment later. “Aqua Tower! Slot in!” The form of Megaman that had disappeared earlier had now rematerialized several feet away from his original position and slammed his hand down on the floor. Water began to emerge from the ground and the area around the navi’s hand, forming a torrential pillar of the liquid. It then began spinning and heading directly at the exposed back of Shiro’s navi. Using an area steal chip and then an offensive chip was one of Lan and Megaman’s classic combination tactics, and it usually proved quite effective.
Lan glanced over at Shiro’s blank face, and his grin widened. The battle was turning out to be quite interesting, and he was just getting warmed up. He was known for being thingyy and overconfident like this, but he still had the skill to back it up. “What’s wrong, Shiro? It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that you aren’t trying very hard. Fight me seriously, or we might as well quit now.”

Lenore's eyes narrowed as she kept her attention pinned on Shiro and Lan. Silently observing the matter. She leaned back on a table, trying to read what was happening in each of the two's minds at that time. She didin't have any trouble reading Lan, but Shiro, he was an obstacle for her. Her eyes for a breif second traveled to Chaud. She couldn't help but wonder why if he was so bored with the entire circumstance, why he didn't just leave.
Her emerald eyes lingered on Chaud for a moment longer, before she refocused her attention to the battle. She sighed softly, 'Everyone is so strange here... It's a nice change...' she couldn't help but think to herself.

Rei watched the battle intently, so much that she didn't notice that Chaud had walked in. Lan seemed pretty predictable while Shiro was more mysterious. That drew her attention towards him somewhat. He seemed so callous while Lan was full of emotion. In truth, she liked both of their personalities from what she could tell so far, despite the fact that they were opposites. She didn't know much about Lenore either, except the fact that she shared a likeness for netbattling. As for Chaud, he seemed pompous from what she saw in the classroom. Only time would tell, really. But for right now, the battle was looking interesting, and she didn't want to distract herself. Both of the boys were doing so well that she decided that she would have to congratulate them both afterwards.

As the blue navi had used the chip to change his position, the navi of Shiro had turned his head to see this sudden move. Though his body was still cloaked and covered it seemed like Lan’s signature move wasn’t so bad after all. Even though it was a good move, Shiro had already inserted a chip to protect himself against such a strategy, as the attack happened, he had let the chip that he had placed inside his PET finally register.
The battle chip was Anti-damage.
As the water tower hit the navi, he suddenly had lunged up into the air. He had taken no damage due to the fact that some sort of shell had fallen off him and the water had collided with that. He was now up in the air and doing well to take aim. His cloak had finally unwrapped now showing the figure of a black haired navi. His hair was somewhat long and he wore the red cloak about his figure. His left arm happened to be a claw that looked almost like it was pure gold, that is if that was in the net of course.
His eyes watched steadily down at Megaman. He pulled the shuriken that had formed and prepared his arm to launch them. After a few small seconds of aiming, his arms had flung themselves out and he came to a landing as the shuriken flew down towards Megaman. Two were aimed for each of his sides. The third was a little less accurate, but it was going towards his head. Of course a surprise attack like this wasn’t’ much when someone like Lan and Megaman were the opponents, but it was enough.
The navi landed and lifted his clan up to cover his face slightly. It seemed like he was already beginning to get ready. He started to move at a running speed, zigzagging a bit as he was closing in on Megaman.
Real World.
Shiro was watching his PET when all of this event had taken place. He looked up and over to Lan as he spoke and lightly smiled, though it didn’t seem to be fully real, it still didn’t look fake. Was it even counted as anything? A melancholy smile? Who knew? He then withdrew another chip from his pocket, he glanced at it and held it at the ready to place into his PET. The fight was still going.

Megaman was surprised for a brief moment by the sudden counter-attack, but it was an easy situation for someone like him to get out of. He simply stepped forward and let the shuriken sail over his head. The other two hit the ground at each of his sides. The Anti-damage chip was useful against large and slow enemies, but it wasn’t very effective against a smaller, quicker navi. Now it was time for the famous duo to finally bring their attacks up a notch. They had fooled around for long enough, and now it was time to force Shiro and his navi to fight their hardest. “Flame Sword, slot in!” With a flick of his middle and index fingers, Lan had taken a chip from his pocket and inserted it into his PET.
The blue navi raised his right arm as it began transforming into the usual energy sword, but it had a red-orange shade around it to signify its fiery abilities. He then raised the sword as he carefully scanned the movements of the clawed navi running towards him. “Now!” He swung the sword forward with all his might when he heard Lan’s command. A line of flames began materializing in the area that he had just slashed in front of him, and they were rapidly expanding forward towards Shiro’s running navi. Even if the navi was running in a varied pattern, the flames would still engulf the entire area around him. His only option would be to either get above the flames, or perform an action to counteract them.
Lan’s normally joyful expression darkened for a moment when he saw Shiro’s pathetic excuse for a smile. What an arrogant jerk. I used to think that Chaud wa s the worst, but this guy won’t even respond to me. I’ll show him… He dug around in his pocket for a moment and withdrew his hand full of battlechips. He had been at Higsby’s shop yesterday, so he was now stocked up on his favorite chips. My next move will be one that even this guy can’t ignore…
